Affiliate Disclosure

Effective date: 8 October 2026

This course costs you nothing to read. It is paid for by affiliate commission, and this page sets out how that works, because a reader who knows where the money comes from can weigh what they read.

What an affiliate link is

An affiliate link is an ordinary link carrying a code that identifies the site which sent you. Follow one and register with the destination, and the affiliate network operating the link records the referral and pays a commission to IGOA s.r.o., which publishes Pure Premise.

The commission comes out of the vendor's own marketing budget. It is not added to anything you pay: you are charged exactly what you would be charged arriving there by typing the address yourself.

Which links are paid, and where they appear

One product has paid links here: Enlisted, the worked example. They appear in five places, each with a note beside it saying what it is:

  • On the home page, in the section explaining where Enlisted appears in the course.
  • In Step 1, where the registration-and-confirmation pattern is introduced.
  • In Step 2, beside the advice to read the vendor's own system requirements on the day you decide.
  • In Step 3, beside the note that we do not state whether the game includes randomised purchases.
  • In Step 4, beside the registration procedure, and in Step 5, beside the note that we quote no price.

Every other outbound link on this site — the Australian Classification Board, the Australian Cyber Security Centre, Scamwatch, the eSafety Commissioner, the OAIC and the ACCC — is an unpaid reference.

Affiliate links here are marked for search engines with rel="sponsored nofollow", open in a new tab, and point directly at the destination address, which your browser shows you before you click. We use no redirect pages, shorteners or scripts that hide where a link goes.

What the commission does not decide

It does not decide what any step says. The five steps describe procedures that apply to desktop PC games generally: checking your own hardware, reading a classification, reading an agreement, protecting an account, choosing settings and setting a spending figure. None of those sections would be written differently for a different product, and none of them recommends spending money.

It does not decide which products are mentioned. Enlisted is the worked example because the path into it — register, confirm the email address, log in — is the exact pattern Steps 1 and 4 teach. It is also a product IGOA s.r.o. has a commercial relationship with. Both are true, and we would rather say so.

It does not buy a recommendation. We do not tell you Enlisted is good, because we do not score or review products, and we describe no feature beyond what the vendor states. We quote no price for it, because the material we have from the vendor states none.

What does decide the content

Three things. Whether a procedure is correct and can be carried out by someone with no prior knowledge. Whether it applies across the category rather than to one product. And whether the source for a claim is a primary one we can link to.

The editorial method on our About page sets out how the course was structured, which source each step relies on and how often it is reviewed. That page also repeats this disclosure, because it belongs in both places.

You can finish the course without clicking anything

Every step, every checklist and every decision in this course can be completed without following a single affiliate link and without spending any money. Delete every Enlisted link and nothing in the five steps stops making sense; that is the test we apply to it. If you would rather not use our link, type the vendor's address yourself.

What we receive

The affiliate network sends IGOA s.r.o. reports used to reconcile payments. We do not receive, request or try to derive information identifying individual readers. The Privacy Policy covers this in full, including the cookies the destination site and the network may set on their own domains once you leave this one.

Trademarks

All brand names on Pure Premise, Enlisted among them, are the property of their owners. Except for the paid affiliate links described on our funding page, none of those owners is affiliated with Pure Premise, and none has endorsed or sponsored it.

Pure Premise is not Enlisted's official site, publisher, partner or authorised source. We are an independent publisher earning commission on referrals.
